Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - Plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates the nutritional
component of health care services for the organization. Provides direct patient care to adolescent, adult,
and geriatric patients.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Develops and implements plans of care based on assessment of nutritional needs and available sources
and correlates plan with other health care.
• Evaluates nutritional care and provides follow-up continuity of care.
• Instructs individuals and families in nutritional principles, diet, food selection, and economics while
adapting teaching plans to individual lifestyle.
• Provides consultation to and works with community groups.
• Conducts or participates in in-service education and consultation with professional staff and
supporting personnel of own and related organizations.
• Makes self available and willing to learn and help with other staff member’s jobs if necessary.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to maintain effective working relations with others.
• Skill in computing figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
EDUCATION - A high school diploma or GED is required; however, a Bachelor’s degree is required
EXPERIENCE- One to two years related experience or training. Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is preferred but not required.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE - Certification as a dietician is required. CDE Required.
