McBean Little Recipients
Purpose
To annually recognize the competence and contributions of an outstanding NHADE Diabetes Educator.
History
The McBean-Little Award was named for two of the founding members of NHADE, Roxanne McBean and Lynne Little. Both women were dedicated to quality diabetes education.
Roxanne taught us a lot about how adults learn. She created “Mission Possible†weekend retreats for people with diabetes. She was also instrumental in initiating a school education program. She was a CDE at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, developed the diabetes education program there and was a leader of the ADA support Group in that community.
Lynne was especially interested in gestational diabetes and wrote the GDM guidelines for the Seacoast Diabetes and Internal Medicine program She was instrumental in filing the application for ADA Recognition for that facility.
This award is dedicated to the memory of these two very unique women who were lost to our association through their untimely deaths.
