Dick Smith Award Recipients
Purpose
To annually recognize an individual whose extraordinary contributions of time and effort contribute to the mission of NHADE.
History
This award is in recognition of Dick Smith. Dick is a retired sales representative of a diabetes supply company, who has shown his commitment to people with diabetes through his work, his volunteer activities at Camp Carefree and as a motivational speaker throughout the state. Dick was instrumental in the creation, development and maintenance of the NHADE website. This website has been a model for the development of many AADE chapter websites.
Criteria
- Member of NHADE.
- Not a previous recipient of the Dick Smith Service Award
- Exemplary dedication and commitment to benefit the organization and to enhance the mission of the diabetes educator.
- Service to the NHADE organization, e.g. newsletter, website, organization/support special events, committee participation, submission of awards to AADE, etc.
